Course Description:

Metal and crystal singing bowls have become an integral part of Western society. In this hands-on class,  you will learn how to play both metal and crystal singing bowls in an effective manner, using a variety of different strategies, each strategy targeted for different intentions. We will dispel many of the myths around these instruments looking at the history of sound and of the manufacture of these beautiful instruments.

Course Objectives:

• Manufacture: Learn how both crystal and singing bowls are made and how to identify between different qualities of instruments.  Dispel many of the myths surrounding singing bowls
• Tools: Use a variety of different techniques to discover how and why each can create a different sound
• Technique: Learn to play both crystal and metal singing bowls in an effective manner to help reduce stress
• Intention: Discover a variety of methods to use metal and crystal singing bowls in your practice

This course is open to both the general public and to students of Rooted in Sound Academy Canada. 

Meet your Instructors

Wyatt Mylius

Wyatt Mylius is a passionate sound healing practitioner and teacher who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his students at Rooted in Sound. With certifications in Peter Hess Sound Therapy, Gong Resonance Therapy, Nada Yoga, and Reiki, Wyatt's approach combines modern scientific principles with ancient healing traditions. He has trained with renowned experts including Peter Hess, Mitch Nur Ph.D., Mike Tamburo, Dr. Kulreet Chaudhary and Deepak Chopra, which deeply informs his teachings. Wyatt's classes offer an immersive experience that emphasizes sound's therapeutic potential for healing and personal transformation. Denise Blaney

With a lifetime immersed in music, I hold a university degree in Theory, Composition, and Music History, and bring over 30 years of experience teaching music in elementary schools. My journey took an exciting turn when I discovered crystal singing bowls, which led me to explore the world of Sound Practitioners. After hundreds of hours of training with leading experts and over 1,000 hours of research, I am dedicated to providing education that cuts through marketing hype, myths, and misinformation. My teaching approach makes complex concepts accessible and enjoyable for non-musicians. Whether you need guidance in selecting the perfect instruments or finding the right sounds for your needs, I’m here to help.

Participants are welcome to make purchases at the Sound Journey Store before or after training.  If you would like a private consultation, we suggest you book the day before or after class to accommodate for more time.
