Course Description:
Metal and crystal singing bowls have become an integral part of western society. In this hands on class, you will learn how to play both metal and crystal singing bowls in an effective manner, using a variety of different strategies. Different strategies will be covered for different intentions. We will dispel many of the myths around these instruments looking at the history of sound and of the manufacture of these beautiful instruments.
Course Objectives:
- Manufacture: Learn how both crystal and singing bowls are made and how to identify between different qualities of instruments. Dispel many of the myths surrounding singing bowls
- Tools: Use a variety of different tools to discover how and why each tool can create a different sound
- Technique: Learn to play both crystal and metal singing bowls in an effective manner to help reduce stress
- Intention: Discover a variety of methods to use metal and crystal singing bowls in your practice

With a lifetime immersed in music, I hold a university degree in Theory, Composition, and Music History, and bring over 30 years of experience teaching music in elementary schools. After hundreds of hours of training with leading experts and over 1,000 hours of research, I am dedicated to providing education that cuts through marketing hype, myths, and misinformation.
