Saturday August 29, 2026 from 10 am - 6 pm. This workshop is in-person at the Sound Journey Store in Beamsville, ON. or available to attend virtually online.
Course Description:
This 8-hour advanced workshop is designed for people who are ready to deepen their trauma-informed skills and expand their capacity to hold safe, regulated, and empowered space. Sound is powerful. It can soothe, awaken, unlock memory, and access the nervous system directly. With that power comes responsibility. This training bridges trauma education with practical, embodied tools so practitioners can work confidently and ethically with clients whose nervous systems carry stress, shock, or layered trauma histories.
Course Objectives:
- Apply an informed understanding of trauma responses by recognizing nervous system patterns in real time and responding with skill, clarity, and compassion.
- Conduct comprehensive, trauma-informed intakes that establish safety, clarify client needs, and create a foundation of trust and consent.
- Interrupt or redirect sessions safely and ethically when signs of dysregulation arise, maintaining client stability and emotional safety.
- Hold therapeutic space through intentional verbal presence, using grounded, supportive language that fosters regulation, empowerment, and felt safety.
Who Can Take This Course?
This course is open to both the general public and to students of Rooted in Sound Academy Canada.
Number of Credit Hours for Rooted in Sound Academy Students:
This course is worth 8 hours towards Rooted in Sound Academy elective hours. If you take this course and then decide to join Rooted in Sound Academy at a later date, you will be credited these hours.
Please note the class is subject to cancellation if minimum enrolment (5 participants) is not met.

Deb Maybury’s work bridges psychology, spirituality, and personal transformation. Founder of The SoundGarden Studio in Brampton, Ontario, Deb offers individual and group SoundGarden Journeys that blend vibrational sound, somatic awareness, and psychotherapeutic principles to support self-discovery, emotional regulation and deep relaxation.Her approach is grounded in clinical training and experiential inquiry, integrating evidence-based psychotherapy with intuition and spirituality. Participants are welcome to make purchases at the Sound Journey Store before or after training. If you would like a private consultation, we suggest you book the day before or after class to accommodate for more time.

Air B&B and VRBO, Home To Go and Vacation RenterThe Closest airport is Hamilton which is 30 minutes away . The next two airports are Toronto, Ontario, Canada and Buffalo NY, USA. Both airports are 1 hour away.
Refund policy
PRODUCTS: We want you to be 100% satisfied with your purchase, we are happy to work with you to find the perfect item.
If for some reason you are not happy, please call us within 30 days.
If, within the 30 days, you want to exchange an item we will give you full credit towards other products. However, If you wish to do a full return, there is a 15% restocking fee. The item must be returned in the same condition you purchased it.
Shipping is at your expense. It must arrive to us in the same condition as when it was shipped out. Once we have received your returned item, and have inspected it, we will issue a a refund minus the restocking fee and any costs that we incurred to ship the instrument to you.
WORKSHOPS: Our workshops typically sell out quickly. Therefore, we can only offer a refund on tickets if we can fill your spot with someone from the waitlist. Please note that if you cancel at the last minute, it may be difficult for us to find a replacement. Additionally, if you purchase a ticket and do not attend, no refund will be available.
