This course is worth 8 hours of electives towards Rooted in Sound Academy elective hours. If you take this course and then decide to join Rooted in Sound Academy at a later date, you will be credited these hours.
Course Description
This 8-hour workshop is designed to equip participants with the skills to facilitate engaging and transformative drum or flute circles. You will learn how to create a safe and supportive environment for musical exploration, community building, and healing. Whether working with drums, flutes, or a combination of instruments, this class will teach you how to guide participants through rhythmic and melodic exercises that encourage connection, expression, and relaxation.
Course Objectives
- Understand the principles of facilitation for drum and flute circles, creating an inclusive and healing environment.
- Learn techniques for guiding group rhythms and melodic play using drums and flutes.
- Explore how to integrate breathwork and intention into the circle to deepen the meditative and healing experience.
- Develop strategies for encouraging creative expression and community connection through music.
- Practice leading improvisational exercises that allow participants to explore rhythm and melody.
- Learn how to structure a drum or flute circle session to accommodate varying skill levels and group dynamics.
- Gain confidence in using rhythm and melody to facilitate emotional release, relaxation, and group harmony.
By the end of this workshop, you will have the tools and confidence to lead drum or flute circles that inspire connection, creativity, and healing.
Meet your Instructors
Wyatt Mylius
Wyatt Mylius is a passionate sound healing practitioner and teacher who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his students at Rooted in Sound. With certifications in Peter Hess Sound Therapy, Gong Resonance Therapy, Nada Yoga, and Reiki, Wyatt's approach combines modern scientific principles with ancient healing traditions. He has trained with renowned experts including Peter Hess, Mitch Nur Ph.D., Mike Tamburo, Dr. Kulreet Chaudhary and Deepak Chopra, which deeply informs his teachings. Wyatt's classes offer an immersive experience that emphasizes sound's therapeutic potential for healing and personal transformation. His mission is to empower others through sound wellness education, providing tools for self care, balance, and well-being. Wyatt's teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that sound is not just heard but felt, connecting deeply with the body, mind, and spirit. Denise Blaney
With a lifetime immersed in music, Denise holds a university degree in Theory, Composition, and Music History, and brings over 30 years of experience teaching music in elementary schools. Her journey took an exciting turn when she discovered crystal singing bowls, which led her to explore the world of Sound Practitioners. After hundreds of hours of training with leading experts and over 1,000 hours of research, she is dedicated to providing education that cuts through marketing hype, myths, and misinformation. Her teaching approach makes complex concepts accessible and enjoyable for non-musicians. Whether you need guidance in selecting the perfect instruments or finding the right sounds for your needs, she is here to help.
Refund policy
PRODUCTS: We want you to be 100% satisfied with your purchase, we are happy to work with you to find the perfect item.
If for some reason you are not happy, please call us within 30 days.
If, within the 30 days, you want to exchange an item we will give you full credit towards other products. However, If you wish to do a full return, there is a 15% restocking fee. The item must be returned in the same condition you purchased it.
Shipping is at your expense. It must arrive to us in the same condition as when it was shipped out. Once we have received your returned item, and have inspected it, we will issue a a refund minus the restocking fee and any costs that we incurred to ship the instrument to you.
WORKSHOPS: Our workshops typically sell out quickly. Therefore, we can only offer a refund on tickets if we can fill your spot with someone from the waitlist. Please note that if you cancel at the last minute, it may be difficult for us to find a replacement. Additionally, if you purchase a ticket and do not attend, no refund will be available.
